Will you grant me a moment to brag a little?

Hey, I'm the wife, I can brag about my awesome husband if I want to. Many of you know that Ryan has memorized several books of the Bible, the New Testament to be exact. People are fascinated by this, including one Johnny Rock, the morning DJ at the local Christian radio station (Johnathon Eltrevoog to the non-radio world).

This morning he had Ryan come on the morning show to quiz him. There is a new album out that is solely scripture. Who could write better lyrics than God, right? So they would start the song and Ryan would tell them when to stop and tell them what book and chapter that scripture came from. The first song played "Whatever is true...", and Ryan answered correctly Philippians 4.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

The second song began to play, "We have this treasure...". Ryan answered correctly 2 Corinthians 4.

We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

While he did have trouble with a song from the Psalms, I'm still proud of him. Not everyone can pull from a few words what book of the Bible it is, much less the chapter. Johnny kept calling him "Bible Man Ryan". Yep, he's my Bible Man. :-)
