Yep, it was one of THOSE moments. All that you already know comes together to make one astonishing "aha" moments. Had one of them myself this week. Lately they seem to be coming from the book that we are doing in bible study. Beth Moore's "Jesus: The One and Only".
This week the study was on Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Everyone is praising Him, placing their cloaks on the ground for His donkey to walk on, and waving palm branches. And of course, not all the people are happy about Him coming to Jerusalem. So some of the Pharisees tell Jesus to tell his disciples to be quiet.
"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." Luke 19:40 (Please keep those stones in mind.)
So Jesus makes it to Jerusalem in time for Passover, and is there for a week. He's teaching and preaching and preparing His disciples. And then He is crucified...
"And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split." Matthew 27:50-51
Those stones that were going to cry out praise to Jesus, they were split. At THE moment of his death. Well, if there are no more stones to praise God, then I better get busy.
