Well, another year..another Homecoming at Olivet. I love going and seeing people that you haven't seen in a while. Although this year I saw and talked with more people that I see on a regular basis. Couples from my Sunday School class, teachers from my school, and family. But it was still fun...and COLD!
Friday night was cold and rainy, good weather for watching basketball...INSIDE. The Lady Tigers won in typical fashion 112-80. They have a system of every 2-3 minutes substituting all 5 players. This keeps fresh legs on the court and wears the other team down.
Then the men took to the court against Athletes in Action. AIA is composed of former college and professional players who play exhibition games and spread the gospel. At the beginning of the game I was worried they might be too much for our boys. But the Tigers pulled out a win, solidly.
Saturday was again, cold, and windy. I had on several layers and wrapped myself up in blankets for the football game. Even Ryan was cold (and it takes a lot to get him to freeze). I was hoping for an exciting game, to keep me moving. But alas, it was not to be. The Tigers lost 10-16.
But that wasn't the end of my cold weekend. Saturday night we went to the Chili Dump in Clifton. While the garage is heated, the kids coming in and out of the door kept zapping the heat. And then on Sunday Ryan and I dressed up as Duke and Kentucky Fans (respectively) and handed out candy at our church's Treat n Trunk. It was one of those days when you realize how close you are to the WINDY city. Brrrrrrrr!
