My Thanksgiving in Tennessee

So, I've been back from Tennessee for a while now...I'm mean my laundry's all caught up for heaven's sake.

Per our tradition, Ryan and I headed down to TN to spend Thanksgiving with his parents. We left here at 6 pm, and didn't get there until 12:30 pm on Wednesday. So Thanksgiving day, we slept in and relaxed. Gail had to go to work in the afternoon, so our turkey dinner was postponed until Friday. We did end up getting to Walmart early on Black Friday. Jim went with us and after he found what he was looking for, he wandered off. When Ryan was done shopping for movies, and it was my turn to shop, we mostly ended up looking for Jim. (Thanks a lot!) Once we located him, we left...there are no other stores open that early in Camden.

Gail invited a couple friends from their church for the dinner. We sat down to eat at 1 pm. Ryan had the honor of cutting the turkey (Gobbla, gobbla, not so Humunga!). After dinner, we started playing board games, followed by card games. Next thing we knew it was 9 o'clock. We had sat at the table for 8 hours!!!

Saturday we drove to Nashville to see our friends, the Coveys (Aaron and Lauren). We usually go out to eat or hang out at their place, but not this year. Trevecca Nazarene University (in Nashville) was hosting a Nazarene University Basketball classic. So we went and watched Olivet (our alma mater) play Mid America (my mom's alma mater) at Trevecca. I was hoping that ONU would win, so I could call up Uncle Bob and rub it in his face...sadly though, we lost in TRIPLE OVER TIME!! Aaron and Lauren both graduated from ONU and now Lauren works at Trevecca, so we stayed to watch the TNU game against Southern Nazarene University.

Sunday we came home, with half of America on the roads at the same time. It wasn't very eventful, which was good. And now we are safe at home, and unfortunately, back to work. Why can't every week include Thanksgiving break?
