Presidential Trivia - Week 2

So here are some interesting facts I found as I perused my Presidential fact book:

  • Three Presidents died on July 4th. Two of them within hours of each other ON the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration (1826). They would be John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. James Monroe died 1831.
  • Our 18th President, Ulysses S. Grant, is known for the scandals that took place during his two terms. Both of his Vice Presidents, one of his Secretaries of the Treasury and one of his personal secretaries were all implicated.
  • (This comes from HistoryChannel.com) John Tyler's wife, Julia Gardiner Tyler, insisted that "Hail to the Chief" be played at Tyler's entrance to official events. Creating a Presidential tradition.
