New Year's Resolutions

I don't think it's too late to come up with some resolutions for 2009. If I write them down, and share them with friends, then I have to be committed to them. If any of you see or hear of me breaking any of these, let me know. I want you to hold me accountable. Tell it to me straight, I'm a big girl (almost 29! Eeek!) and I can take it. I might be a little hurt, but I'll get through it.

So, in order here they are:

1. Respect Ryan. As a godly wife, this is what I'm called to do. God demands it of me. I've been letting that slip lately, something that I am not proud of. So, I started out the 2009 on the right foot. I don't mean to brag, but I did something that I didn't want to because Ryan wanted me to. He had left his game at the New Year's Eve party we went to. We left early and we to his work. After ringing in the 2009, I left, went back to the party to pick up his game and then went home and to bed.

2. Be financially responsible. I need to be more involved I should say. Ryan has shouldered our finances for a long time, and I need to show more interest in it. It's something that I felt I should do for a while now, just haven't gotten my butt in gear.

3. Eat healthier. While it's true that I need to loose weight, I just need to make smarter food choices and not binge eat chocolate. It's mostly for my health. I want to be around for a long time. This also means not eating out so much, unless we HAVE TO. Like when we are out with friends, or on the road. And then, make smart food choices while there.

When I was in high school and college, my Grandpa Dace used to give out New Year's Blessings to each of the family. It would be either a Bible verse that would be a blessing on us. Or, a person from the Bible that we would have to emulate. This year Mom had us to birthday blessings to one another (my bible study ladies do this as well). And while I'm quick to read what my PWAers write to me, I didn't read most of my blessing from my family, until a couple days ago. Trevor's and Grandpa's blessing from me will be my blessings from God for 2009.

Psalm 91:9-10 "Yes, because God's your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can't get close to you,
harm can't get through the door."

Haggai 2:19b "From now on you can count on a blessing."
