2008 - A Year in Book Review

Since the weather outside is frightful, stay inside and curl up with a good book. Here is a sampling that I have read this year (and last year too). Some might even appeal to the male reader as well, some may not. :-)

These are ones I read for Bible Study or Sunday School:
  • The Purpose Driven Life - Rick Warren
  • The Bait of Satan - John Bevere (I highly recommend this one, especially if you are going into the ministry).
  • Walking in Total God Confidence - Donna Partow
  • His Needs, Her Needs - Willard F. Harley
  • The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman
Lori Wick is one of my favorite authors. She recently came out with a new series, Big Sky Dreams.
  • Cassidy
  • Sabrina
  • Jessie
I have recently been bombarded with books about the Amish. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about their way of life and the way they believe. I by no means could become Amish, but I admire them.
Books by Beverly Lewis:
  • The Shunning
  • The Confession
  • The Reckoning
Wanda Brunstetter,
Daughters of Lancaster County
:
  • Shopkeepper's Daughter
  • Quilter's Daughter
  • Bishop's Daughter
Brides of Lancaster County:
  • The Hope Chest
  • Plain and Fancy
  • Looking for a Miracle
  • A Merry Heart
Brides of Webster County:
  • Going Home
  • On Her Own
When I was in college I read the series by Gilbert and Lynn Morris, Cheney Duvall, MD. They are about one of the first female doctors in the US. Cheney is a fictional character of course and the books are medical mysteries about some diseases that we have found a cure for. But they are interesting none the less. The new series, The Shiloh Legacy, is about Cheney and her husband, Shiloh.
  • Where Two Seas Meet
  • The Moon by Night
  • There is a Season
And I am currently reading another series by Gilbert Morris. I've only read the first book.
  • What the Cat Dragged In.
Maybe over the next week and a half that's left of Christmas Break, I will be able to read more books. I hope so.
