2008 Olympics

So last night was one of my most favorite events of the Olympics, the Opening Ceremony. I love all the cultural pomp and circumstance of the host countries. And of course, the parade of nations. I'm used to Zambia and Zimbabwe being one after the other. But since the order of the nations was based on number of strokes in the Chinese symbol for the country's name, they were nations apart. And Zambia was overshadowed by the host country coming after them. And not by Yao Ming, the Chinese flag bearer, but by the little boy walking next to him.
Lin Hao is a survivor of the earthquake that hit China in May. He saved two other classmates because that was his job. I have a new hero. And he's so cute to boot. I just wanted to reach through the TV and hug and squeeze him. He just looked so tiny, but maybe that's because he was standing next to Yao.
Anyway, the Olympics are underway. Yeah!!! I love the summer games and will be glued to my TV for the next 17 days! Go USA!!!
